Edward Said in his book "Orientalism" explained the policy adopted by the colonizers so as to control the alien lands. The first cut they put to distinguish colonizing and colonized reality was naming. The terms occident and orient were given to these two parts of the same phenomenon i.e. colonization. We are conditioned by the language we speak and most importantly by the language we listen to, According to Sapir-Whorf's Mould theory of language (1958) "Human beings do not live in the objective world alone or alone in the world of social activity, but are very much at the mercy of the particular language which has become the medium of expression for their society. According to them, "real World" is to a large extent, unconsciously built upon the language habits of the group. They also believe that "no two languages are ever sufficiently similar to be considered as representing the same social reality because the language habits of our community predispose certain choices of interpretation.
